Hallo Tineke,

Sinds de laatste update:
Bij "Gebeurtenisen" valt bij het veld "Type" de keuzelijst niet meer automatisch open als ik op het keuzevakje druk.
Ik moet eerst wat invullen (maakt niet uit wat), dan met OK bevestigen en dan pas valt de keuzelijst open, dat kan niet de de bedoeling zijn!

Tinecke lijkt niet te reageren. Ik zal namens hem antwoorden.

Als je Aries gebruikt, hebben we dat aangepast aan de andere editors. Aries gebruikte het veld 'Beschrijving' voor het type en het veld 'Type' voor de beschrijving, afhankelijk van het evenement.

Nu staat het veld 'Beschrijving' normaal gesproken bovenaan en het veld 'Type' onderaan. Aangezien de vertaling nog niet is voltooid, zou dit het probleem kunnen verklaren.

Komt dit overeen met jouw situatie?

The situation is not alike. I use a combination of the Cygnus and Gedcom editors to be as close as possible to the original file. Aries is for me as spaghetti, to many data is hidden in subfields and in my opinion not very intuitive.
The last update gives me back the down-arrow on the added event to define "Birth Registration" and "Dead Registration" but the "Christening" event doesn't accept the type of christening (Catholic, Twin, etc.).
Where do I find the "Description" field in an "Event" in Cygnus (see screenshot) and are my previous made definitions In "Type" automatically moved to that field?

Please find a screenshot attached, This is what I meaned with spaghetti. The identification of the source is missing! (In this case (S87564). The second screenshot gives the full "Source" definition.
Hopefully you can do something with this information.

Hi,

The first field is the event description (values are remembered across event of the same nature), and event Type (different values to categorize event of the same nature).

This is aligned to the gedcom standard.

All events have a TYPE (sub-field of the event).

Not all events have a description (BIRT, MARR, DEAT, GRAD, etc.) but some have (OCCU, RESI in Gedcom 7.0, etc).

All 3 editors now always show both fields consistently:
- Gedcom Editor shows on 2 lines, Description first, then as aa sub-property TYPE.
- Cygnus shows 2 fields left is the description and right is the TYPE
- Aries shows the 2 fields: top is the TYPE (to avoid too muych change with the past) and second down is the Description.

The data is unchanged compared to before the change. What Aries was doing before was displaying the Type in the description for events which did not have a description (BIRT, etc).

I hope this is clearer now and sorry for the historical confusion.
