Data Cleanup from Rootsmagic & Ancestry

Hello everyone,

Another user group recommended Ancestris to cleanup multiple events created by Rootsmagic and its sync with Ancestry.com. My file also has inconsistent locations after importing to Ancestris. It seems like Hamlet not stores not only Cemetery names, hospital names etc but also has all my city locations in the Hamlet field.

Would anyone have any advise to clean this up finally?

Hi,

Once your gedcom file shows up in Ancestris, go to the View menu, Table of Places, and from there you can pretty much re-arrange all your locations super easily.
First define how your ocation should be defined (Modifiy Place Format button), and then use the "speadsheet" like in excel (edits, copy/paste, drag-n-drop).
