Feature Request - Direct Editing in Entitles Tab
« on: January 10, 2025, 14:19:54 »
Hello,

some time ago I moved from another genealogy software to Ancestris  8)

One feature that I really love is the Entitles Table, because it is very powerfull with the filter possibilities.
Since I transferred my GEDCOM from another tool, that was unfortunately not 100% GEDCOM compliant, I have to adjust a lot of fields.

Therefore it would be great to have a direct editing possibility in the Entitles Table.
At the moment I have to click each person and then move up to the editor and change the values manual there.
It would be much easier to have the possibility to just click in the cell of the Entitles Table and change the values there.
A copy paste or copy down function like in Excel would be also great to do a mass change of multiple filtered persons.

Maybe it is possible to include such features in future Ancestris versions!
Thank you for the great tool!  ;)

Best regards
Martin

Perhaps in the future but not today.
We don't want to create a pseudo Excel.

I understand that.
Just to clarify. Having a pseudo Excel is not what the intention of my idea is.
It's mainly about to have the opportunity to edit fields faster than it is possible at the moment and have a more streamlined editing experience.

Especially for users that are migrating from other tools to Ancestris and have to correct a lot in their database that would help massively.
At the moment I'm experiencing that the hard way, as my former tool did a lot of stuff not really GEDCOM compliant  :-\
