Red and green rectangles in boxes

What is the significance of the two red rectangles on the inner right-hand border of the individual boxes and the single red rectangle in the family boxes?

In one or two cases, I have an individual box with one red rectangle at level of date of birth (1863) and one green rectangle at the level of date of death (1944). This colour pattern does not change if I change the root individual.
I also have one family box with a green rectangle whilst all others are red. NB the individual box and the family box with green rectangles belong to different individuals.

I am using the following software:

Ancestris version:  11.0.10897
Java:  1.8.0_361-b09 - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_361
System:  Windows 10 - 10.0 - roger
User directory  C:\Users\roger\.ancestris\11

Theses box indicate, by default, that you have defined a source for the date (birth, death or wedding).
Red => No Source
Green => Source defined.

Thanks for the clarification. There is certainly a lot to learn about Ancestris, but I like the program and am trying hard to understand all the possibilities it offers.
