different questions about Ancestris

Hi,
This is a personal message I received. As it's about ancestris support, so its place is there. Hope someone will answer him :

I have some issues with Ancestris version 11 or 12. Here are questions:

1/ Why I do not see spouse boxes or family boxes or marriage links with view or print out? I did see when I created the spouse boxes, but later those disappeared.

2/ How do I can generate or see the relationship from top down by generations, family tree ID. For Example:
      Top: Great great parents as (G1 or ID=1) , Great parents (G2 or ID=1.1), Parents (G3 or ID=1.1.1), son/daughter (G4 or ID=1.1.1.1), children / cousins (G5 or ID=1.1.1.1.1), nephew/ niece (G6 or ID=1.1.1.1.1.1), etc.

3/ I have HP plotter 24" width and roll. How can I get family tree plot out with showing all family trees and branches?

Welcome to Ancestris.

As a general comment, you will find the documentaiton here : https://docs.ancestris.org/shelves/english  Each view has a documented page.

Regarding your questions:

1/ Depending on whether you are talking about views or reports the answer might be different. Spouses or families obviously do not disappear but it is more to get them displayed. In the dynamic tree view, the boxes displayed are the ancestors and descendant of a root person who you choose. You have to display families in the tree to see the spouses and families, but only if they are linked ot the root person. Otherwise, you have to change the root person. 2/ To generate numbers, use Edit/Generate Sosa numbers. See here https://docs.ancestris.org/books/user-guide/page/generate-sosa-numbers

3/ If you go to List and Reports, you'll see some reports for printing ascending lines, descending or both. Be aware that it is not possible to alwas see everybody in the same tree. You might need to plot several trees.

Give a look to "Tools" - "Lists and reports" - Graphic ascending and descending multi-generations tree. It should do the trick. Francois
