Hej,

Godt spørgsmål.

Det er muligt at tilføje en opholdsbegivenhed til en familie fra Gedcom- eller Ariès-redaktørerne. Dette kan også ses for begge ægtefæller. Men det overføres ikke automatisk til børn.

Du skal faktisk oprette opholdsbegivenheder for hvert af børnene. Det er ikke desto mindre muligt at kopiere og indsætte en hel begivenhed med dens datoer og placering ved hjælp af Gedcom-editoren.

Hi Pollux,

The gedcom has been altered by Ages which has changed locations into entities, but Ages has not adapted the tag names. This is not part of the Gedcom vocabulary hence the "?".

Ancestris can open any Gedcom and show you the anomalies, but it does not fix all gedcom errors. In this case, Ancestris no longer knows how to interpret the _LOC entities.

If you give me a file coming from Ages, maybe I can try to develop a conversion mecanism back to official Gedcom format.

Not sure where the 'empty jurisdiction' is in the Ancestrisd preferences.

If you want to harmonize places names though, the Best way is to use the List of Places view.

Hi Pollux,

Zurga is the best to know the configuration you need so we will stick to what he said.

What I know is that I have opened in Ancestris a gedcom file including more than 600 000 people with an 8 year old computer and 4G of RAM and the regular java 1.8 version. So the size of the Gedcom and the memory could be an impacting factor, but you should not have such an issue with the config and should not worry too much about searching the ideal settings.

Unless your gedcom has got a lot of information for each individual, and assuming Ancestris is the main application using the CPU and the computer was rebooted fresh, we should be ok to at least open the file.

I will wait for the first elements (the log INFO level and conf files). Make sure you delete all log files in the directory, so we know for sure it will be the right one.

We will take it step by step but I do want to get to the bottom of it !

The display level in the log only affects from FINE and below. Really no impact between OFF and INFO.

I recall you have lots of individuals in your Gedcom. How many again ?

What most affects the loading time is the available memory for the Ancestris java application. Send me also your .ancestris/etc/ancestris.conf file please.

OK. This is the log detail.

The linking should not be very long if the loading is quick.

I would need to see the log but you would have to put it back to INFO level first. This should not affect the timing since very little information is displayed in that level.

Can you please do that and send me your log file please ?

Another question : did this happen suddenly or have you had the issue forever ?

Pas de souci. Allez dans le menu Aide d'Ancestris, action "Faire un don". Vous y trouverez les 3 modes de paiement. Préférez le virement si vous pouvez, même s'il y a un délai de mise en place.

Bonjour,

Les informations nécessaires pour la comparaison ne sont pas liées à l'entête du fichier gedcom justement, mais à Geonames. Comme la comparaison s'applique à des généalogies de multiples langues, il faut exprimer vos lieux dans une même langue et de façon synthétique. Donc Ancestris va récupérer chez Geonames des subdivisions administratives qui sont toutes référencées de la même manière. Voilà tout.

Aucun impact sur le gedcom, ces informations sont stockées dans vos paramètres utilisateurs pour éviter d'aller les chercher à chaque fois. Seules les modifications sont récupérées les fois suivantes.

Hi Andreas,

The graph is the only graphic view where you can see all individuals at the same time in a family tree.

The dynamic tree view displays ancestors and descendants of the root individual you choose. This design comes from the fact that you cannot easilly display both an ascending line and a descending line for several individuals at the same time.

To see siblings of an individual, you have to choose a root individual among the ascendants of these siblings. Their father for instance.

Then you can navigate among individuals without changing the root in the tree.

I guess the direct answer to your question is to *not* change the root individual when you navigate from person to person. This is the default behaviour by the way.

I hope this little explanation answers your need, otherwise please let us know.

Para cambiar une palabra en toda la aplication, es mas facil si lo hago directamente en el codigo, porque hay una funccion de buscar/cambiar una palabra en todos los ficheros en un paso.

Entoncès, si puedes decirme si hay otra palabra que cambiar, lo podria hacer al mismo tiempo. Sino, no pasa nada, empiezo con estas dos palabras. Podemos continuar esta discusion en email privado.

Muchas gracias por su mensaje.

Es posible que algunas palabras traducidas no sean perfectamente las mejores en funccion del contexto. Ha sido mucho trabajo por parte de Jordi, y se puede escapar algunas cosas de vez en cuando. Si encuentras palabras que mejorar, por cierto el puede modificarlas. Cuando cambiamos una palabra en un idoma, se cambiara para todos los usuarios que utilizan Ancestris en este idioma.

Nos puedes hacer una captura de las pantallas correspondientes por favor ?

Tambien, cuando dices que te gustaria ayudar en traducir, tienes tu tiempo para hacerlo ? Jordi ha hecho todo el trabajo de traduccion en castallano y catalano, y ha necesitado mucho tiempo. Ahora es mas facil porque se vé el resultado.

Si quieres ayudar a mejorar Ancestris, nosotros seriamos muy contentos. Como te llamas ?
