Oops, sorry, my fault. If you use version 13, the 3 directories to remove are:
.ancestris/13/var/cache
.ancestris/13/modules
.ancestris/13/update_tracking

Not 'trunk'.

Regards,
Frederic

Don't forget to remove the cache.
(others before you had this error like you (including me) and by doing the steps above it got resolved).

Yes, you're right, the message shows you have *not* downloaded the application version 14 from the Ancestris web site, installed it and cleaned the cash.
Something has gone wrong somewhere in the process if you did do these 3 steps.

Cheers,
Frederic

I think Gedcom 7.0 is cleaner and manages Associations in the right way compared to the previous norm.

Then, in addition to clearing the cache, you need to reinstall from the server please.
After which you need to clear the cache again.

Frederic

Ok I fixed the labels in the display list for a citation. They should now all be localized in the local language.
- In citations (SOUR:EVEN) it should be single event name so this should display ok.
- In source records (SOUR:DATA:EVEN), it coould be a list of values (1 or more). In this case Ancestris is not perfect.
Reason: we were not fully aligned with the gedcom standard in 5.5.1 and have something to improve in 7.0 because
- in 5.5.1 Ancestris was allowing free text for the citation, we should not have allowed it. So once it is upgraded in 7.0, it becomes a PHRASE underneath. Correct by the norm for citations.
- in 7.0, multiple values are possible using _PHRASE underneath. It would be better on the EVEN field.

I hope it helps and clarifies.

Regards.

Two other ways in Ancestris to do it:
- you personalise the icon bar and add the "Convert Gedcom format" button. The icon displays the version number
- you go to Menu/File/Convert Gedcom format and it is displayed there.

I think he is referring to the DATA:EVEN list. I just tried and have the same issue with Ancestris version 14 (must be a side effect of my Property change last week...

Hi, this is something that needs to be fixed. Have you upgraded your gedcom file to Gedcom 7 ? If so, let me see if I can find a way.

Frederic

Hi,

The first field is the event description (values are remembered across event of the same nature), and event Type (different values to categorize event of the same nature).

This is aligned to the gedcom standard.

All events have a TYPE (sub-field of the event).

Not all events have a description (BIRT, MARR, DEAT, GRAD, etc.) but some have (OCCU, RESI in Gedcom 7.0, etc).

All 3 editors now always show both fields consistently:
- Gedcom Editor shows on 2 lines, Description first, then as aa sub-property TYPE.
- Cygnus shows 2 fields left is the description and right is the TYPE
- Aries shows the 2 fields: top is the TYPE (to avoid too muych change with the past) and second down is the Description.

The data is unchanged compared to before the change. What Aries was doing before was displaying the Type in the description for events which did not have a description (BIRT, etc).

I hope this is clearer now and sorry for the historical confusion.

Best regards,
Frederic
