ENGLISH / First Time Here: Genealogy Beginner

Hi,
I am a beginner at Genealogy, though I have been collecting the family stories for years.
Now I need to do something with it all.
I will probably be on the forums a lot as I have only a vague idea about this.
About Me:
I code as a profession. Do a lot of database work.
