Hello
During a GEDCOM import, I ran into this problem. There is a date format apparently used in England (English speaking countries?) for year quarters, like:
Dec Q 1900 or Q41900. It would be equivalent to 1 Oct 1900 to 31 Dec 1900.
Ancestris didn't make the conversion, but it also didn't flag any error.
How should this be handled? Manual conversion or am I missing an option?
Regards,
Pedro.

Hi,
You said "import", not "loading", so, it means you import a genealogy made by another genealogy program? If so, which one? Even if the format of the date you gave is correct, gedcom specifications don't allow such date. So if we have something to do, it should be done thru one of our importation modules. AH! So, if it is not gedcom accepted, I just have to change it manually.
I don't know the program. I just received the file without questions. So I made a generic import. But apparently the format is used in England.
Thank you.
Regards.

Hi Pedro,
See there for the gedcom specs (http://www.ancestris.org/dl/ancestris/norme_gedcom/55gcch2.htm#DATE_VALUE). Your dates could be understood as "text" maybe, but you won't have a conversion. Francois
