DUTCH / Aldfaer Gedcom Import gecorrigeerd

Hallo allemaal,

Zoals jullie misschien gelezen hebben in de post:
Stiefkinderen.
maar ook in de post:
Aldfaer export
waren er problemen met de import van een Aldfaer Gedcom. En wel:

NOTE properties (alleen behorend BINNEN een BIRT of INDI of MARR ed), werden door Aldfaer geëxporteerd als NOTE-entities (dus als onafhankelijke notitie, bruikbaar door de gehele stamboom), en SOUR-properties ( alleen behorend bij 1 tag zoals bv BIRT of DEAT ed),  werden eveneens door Aldfaer geëxporteerd als SOUR-entities (dus als een onafhankelijke Bron, die overal in de stamboom bruikbaar is)

Dit had tot gevolg, zoals Jan W Baas al opmerkte, dat als je op de ene plaats bijvoorbeeld een notitie aanpaste, dat deze dan op alle plekken waar een notitie met dezelfde inhoud stond, mee werd aangepast, terwijl je in de veronderstelling bent dat je alleen deze ene notitie op deze ene plek aanpast. Want zo werkte het in Aldfaer.

Sinds gisteren heeft Zurga dat nu opgelost.
De Aldfaer import routine is nu zodanig aangepast dat de werking van en met NOTE's en SOURces gelijk is aan hoe daar in Aldfaer zelf mee wordt omgegaan.
Tevens wordt in het import verslag, onder een nieuw hoofdstuk, speciaal voor Aldfaer import, aangegeven welke wijziging waar is uitgevoerd.

Wijzigen van bijvoorbeeld een NOTE bij een geboorte, wijzigt nu na deze import, alleen die ene notitie bij de geboorte, en wijzigt niet eventueel, onzichtbaar en ongeweten, deze ook overal elders waar een NOTE met precies identieke tekst staat.
Hetzelfde geldt voor bronnen (SOURces)

Voor degenen, komend van Aldfaer, die vóór gisteren geïmporteerd hebben, die moeten hun stamboom hier op nakijken om ongewilde narigheid te voorkomen.

"Crash?" Sorry, it blocks.

It seems that I managed to solve the problem, at least partially.

The problem now is that if I press print sheet vertically, the result is a blank sheet. If I print horizontally, however, I have no problems (but the result comes out on several pages).

Crash ?
Do you mean that Ancestris exits or just an error ?
If there is an error, could you provide the technical log ?

Ancestris uses your printing property. If you adjust your property in your printing device, Ancestris should be able to send information to printer (eventually a virtual one).

I use "Print of current view" to print a pdf file that has the entire current view on a single page. To do this, I had to set up my pdf printer with a very large (virtual) sheet of paper (in the virtual printer options, not in Ancestris).

Unfortunately my family tree has grown a lot, so I had to set up an even bigger virtual sheet. Since I did this, now Ancestris crashes when I click on "Print of current view".
Is there a way to reset everything?

Or anyway, is there a way to create a pdf or jpg of the current view without using the "Print of current view" button?

It is mentioned here in the doc:

But it depends of your java package actually which does not seem to be in a package.

So you might want to try something else than /Users/gprovost/.sdkman/candidates/java/current/bin/.
Try /Users/gprovost/.sdkman/candidates/java/current/ or /Users/gprovost/.sdkman/candidates/java/.

Hello

I was able to update the conf file inside the app (show package content, ...) but I still get the error message

jdkhome="/Users/gprovost/.sdkman/candidates/java/current/bin/"

However launching the app from within the package content by clicking on "ancestris" opens a terminal that displays more infos

/Applications/Ancestris.app/Contents/Resources/ancestris/bin/ancestris ; exit;
 
 
Identifying path and application name:
   progdir=/Applications/Ancestris.app/Contents/Resources/ancestris/bin
   APPNAME=ancestris
 
Checking configuration file on progdir/../etc:
   Configuration file found. Executing it.
 
Identifying userdir from configuration file:
   userdir(from conf file)=/Users/gprovost/Library/Application Support/ancestris/trunk
   userdir(after argument overwrite)=/Users/gprovost/Library/Application Support/ancestris/trunk
 
Checking configuration file on userdir/etc:
   Configuration file from userdir not found.
 
Checking if jdkhome is defined: (for MacOS, /Contents/Home should be at the end)
   jdkhome=/Users/gprovost/.sdkman/candidates/java/current/bin/
 
Checking JAVA presence
   macOS...

   JAVA is NOT installed or not found! Please install it. Ancestris cannot start

as you can see jdkhome is correctly set but what is the meaning of "(for MacOS, /Contents/Home should be at the end)" because there is no such folder within /Users/gprovost/.sdkman/candidates/java/current/bin/ ?
