Hello Zurga,

I just noticed what went wrong all the time. In the tab "Filter by View" 1064 individuals were marked. Seemingly it overruled the tab "Filter by Entities" all the time. After I unmarked the "Filter by View" tab I indeed got the number of 1148 individuals and my ancestor 3278287 was finally included in my output. And another 83 individuals seemingly.

Regards,

Sjoerd

Hello Zurga,

Sorry I am not an IT guy, but this is working.

However it seems that not all SOSA numbers show up in the saved new gedcom file. For instance I do not see SOSA number 3278287 G22 coming back. Can I send you the original file including SOSA numbers so you can have a look for me?

Many thanks.

Hello Zurga,

The part from "Only ....... Tag:" and the text field is not shown in my window. How do I expand this (if this is maybe the problem)?

Many thanks.

Hello Zurga,

After I do choose "Filter by entities" I get a different view. I do not see the check possibility. Maybe I can send you a screenshot?

Sjoerd

Hello,

How can I save a new gedcom file with only SOSA numbers? I made the list with SOSA numbers and that seems to be fine.

I use Ancestris 12 windows and read the manual but I still do not understand. It looks like I have to do that first via the tab <Mark special individuals> but which one and how? And after that via save as I understand.

Many thanks.

Hi Frederic,

Maybe you could still make an export facility (with no comma in the GIVN-tag)? I am prepared to make a donation or to pay for it.

Sjoerd

Off topic but maybe interesting. I use their website mainly for their starting points:

Overview starting points (example)
Sjoerd Jager (Jager en Dijkstra Family) (Proband) - Delete - Settings
Feddeko Doeckes van Wiarda (Oldest known ancestor in 1 branch) - Delete
Agge Harings Donia (Oldest known ancestor in 1 branch) - Delete
Aesge Fockes van Heringa (Oldest known ancestor in 1 branch) - Delete
Ocke Ulbes Thoe Rispens (Oldest known ancestor in 1 branch) - Delete
Eda Douwes Gerbranda (Oldest known ancestor in 1 branch) - Delete
Willem Stevens Wassenaar (Oldest known ancestor in 1 branch) - Delete

In reality I have 72 starting points.

With the help of these starting points and my DNA matches at MyHeritage and Ancestry I try to find common ancestors.

Good morning,

Thank you all so much for your nice reply.

Yes indeed as Tineke mentioned the other program (in fact website because I upload the gedcom file over there) is online service: "genealogieonline", url: http://genealogieonline.nl/

This service is not only in Dutch but also in English.

With the MyHeritage gedcom the output via them looks like this:

Family tree Jager en Dijkstra » Jochem Hanzes Jager (± 1773-1836)
Personal data Jochem Hanzes Jager

With the Ancestris gedcom the output via them looks like this:

Family tree Jager en Dijkstra » Jochem Hanzes (Jochem, Hanzes) Jager (± 1773-1836)
Personal data Jochem Hanzes (Jochem, Hanzes) Jager
First name Jochem, Hanzes.

So I get extra data between brackets and an additional line First name which I would like to avoid. This all because of the extra comma in GIVN.

Yesterday I asked them if they already have Ancestris clients and if they maybe could change it from their side. However the last time I communicated with them it took a couple of weeks before they replied.

An export facility as Frederic mentions where the comma is deleted in the GIVN line could solve this issue.

Many thanks.

Best regards,
Sjoerd Jager

Hello,

I migrated from MyHeritage to Ancestris. I have a tree of almost 40000 persons. So I cannot change 40000 x GIVN manually.

At MyHeritage my GIVN format was like:

0 @I2@ INDI
1 NAME Jochem Hanzes /Jager/
2 GIVN Jochem Hanzes
2 SURN Jager
1 SEX M

At Ancestris my GIVN format became like:

0 @I2@ INDI
1 NAME Jochem Hanzes /Jager/
2 GIVN Jochem, Hanzes
2 SURN Jager
1 SEX M

So suddenly I have a comma between the two first names of GIVN. I always use two first names in GIVN.

Maybe someone knows how to solve this? The problem is I have to use the GIVN format in another program and over there only the old format of GIVN is working.

Many thanks.

Best regards,
Sjoerd Jager
